The members of the European Integration Committee of FIAA in cooperation with the German Government Project – GIZ, held an information session on Support to harmonization of economic and trade legislation with EU acquis.

GIZ eventThe objective of this Event was informing the Members of the Committee on EU Integration process and structures in Albania; explain how the policy and law harmonization planning, drafting and implementation is done and the Role of the Albanian Ministry of Economy as one of the key players in this process.

The members were also presented with the role and contribution of the business community in this process and shared Croatia’s experience on the Role and participation of business community during SAA implementation and pre-accession phase. Beside public administration, business community has an important role to play during the EU integration process. Business community needs to take a proactive approach during all stages of pre-accession and accession process. In this way, it will be ensured a sustainable economic growth and evidence-based policy and law making with the ultimate goal of reaching EU standards. Based on the experience of the newest EU member states, their participation should be used wisely, providing information to them, asking for their inputs and contribution and consulting them in the decision-making process.

Therefore, harmonization of legislation with EU acquis and its correct implementation are key elements for a proper investment climate and also an essential condition for integration of Albania in European Union. The European Integration Committee of FIAA will continue to be an active body within the association and keep regular communication with the other related structures in the country.
