Foreign Investors Association of Albania – FIAA’s Tax Committee members hold a meeting on November 7th, focusing also on the restructuring of the Committee and Leadership for the next two years. During the past five years, this Committee was chaired by Mrs. Anisa Jasini, Director/Tax Services at Ernst & Young Albania, who has been representing the FIAA’s Committee to the third parties, as well as engaging with her expertise in the important documents such as White Books, Manifests and Fiscal Packages consultation.
For the next two years, this Committee will be chaired by Mrs. Alba Paparisto, Managing Director, Tax at KPMG Albania, who was proposed as a candidature and was approved by the Committee’s members. Mrs. Paparisto stated that she is eager to represent the Committee, share her experience and contribute to the interest of all the members of the Association. She is willing also to organize Committee’s Network Activities aiming at establishing and maintaining a dialogue with stakeholders on issues which are critical to the business climate in the country. In addition, Mrs. Paparisto represents FIAA in the Fiscal Council at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Albania.
Part of the discussion were also the Fiscal Package 2023 proposed drafts, as well as the very important draft law on “Income Tax”. The Committee’s members shared their concern on delayed consultation and lack of feedback on the Income Tax Law draft. They also agreed on developing a working plan and a strategy aiming to strengthen communication with the key stakeholders, in particular with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
