The Chairman of FIAA, Mr. Pedrazzi during his opening word expressed that: “I think FIAA, in fulfilling its mission has also the obligation to bring to public attention, the success of businesses and the achievements of its members. In TAP’s case, I should emphasize not only the grandeur of this work, but also the quality of this project, as the largest investment ever made in Albania, and also emphasize all the other positive effects on society, especially for local communities, through social investments made by TAP”.

This Project, which is expected to have a positive impact on the Albanian economy and society, is considered as the largest foreign direct investment in Albania. Through a robust presentation, Mr. Shkëlqim Bozgo, Country Director of TAP in Albania highlighted the most important phases and noteworthy elements of the project along with challenges.

For Mr. Bozgo, it was very important the business community awareness on TAP Project progress and he appreciated such opportunity that The Foreign Investors Association gives on presenting and sharing the Project progress and the multi-dimensional positive effects it has on the domestic economy. “He proudly stated that: “TAP represents at the same time a guarantee and example for attracting more foreign investments in Albania”.

Furthermore, he highlighted the project’ importance for Europe, for the region and Albania itself which is creating many opportunities for other companies as well as cooperation and support for development of the capacity for gas sector in Albania. He mostly focused on the challenges that an investment of this grandeur represents, as well as on social investments that are already being implemented along the pipeline route. The presentation of the construction phases, the progress of the project and the technical security standards being implemented were also of great interest for the present audience.
