Business ProfileFirst Investment Bank, Albania is a subsidiary of First Investment Bank Plc (“FIBank”). FIBank is the largest bank with primarily Bulgarian capital and the fifth largest bank in Bulgaria in terms of net assets (EUR 2.3 billion). FIBank is a universal commercial bank offering a wide range of products to large corporate clients, SMEs and individuals.
The changes taking place in the Albanian economy and market were the main reason for starting the procedures of changing the status of FIBank from branch to a Bank. Therefore, in August 2005, the FIBank-Tirana Branch started procedures for changing its status from a branch into a bank, and in January 2006, the Bank of Albania officially approved the preliminary license for FIBank-Albania. The new bank shall respond better to the changes and progress achieved in the Albanian economy and its banking system.FIBank-Albania’s immediate goal is to establish itself as a reputable institution and to gain the trust of both customers and other institutions in the Albanian banking system.
