The Board of FIAA had the pleasure to meet with the new Head of the EU Delegation to Albania H.E Mrs. Christiane Hohmann. The President of FIAA Mr. Alessandro D’Oria welcomed Ambassador Hohmann and congratulated her on the mission at a critical moment with great challenges that Albania is undergoing.
During the meeting, the Board representatives talked from their industry’s perspectives as well as shared their views on the Albanian business challenges.
Ambassador Hohmann shared also some of the key findings of the 2022 Report on Albania of the EU Commission. FIAA’s Board highlighted the role of the foreign investors in Albania, which are key catalysators for the growth of economic development, as well as good partners who bring know-how and expertise. However, they also stated that Albania remains yet an unexploited country with lots of investment opportunities in Energy, Tourism, Infrastructure, Technology and Agriculture.
In this context, both the Government and Business should cooperate more on tackling properly the key challenges like, functioning of the rule of law and judiciary, transparency and fair competition, etc.
The Board reassured the Ambassador for their support and cooperation on the common agenda with EU towards a better investment climate in the country.
