Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Mrs. Belinda Balluku met with representatives of Energy Producers and Business

FIAA was present at the end of the year Roundtable with the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Mrs. Balluku and other representatives of energy producers and businesses to discuss on the 2022 concerns and challenges, as well as to announce some new decisions in support of the business that will come into force from January 1st, 2023.

The new decisions included the following:

  • Increase the energy purchase’s price from the priority energy producers in the country from 8.5 to 10 leke/kwh.
  • Continue the protection for the businesses connected to the medium voltage. Offer a more favorable energy supply price, compared also to the price for businesses operating in the free energy market since 2019.
  • Start functioning of the Power Exchange in March 2023.

The Minister further added that the Government will continue to make efforts to minimize the energy crises’ effects for the businesses who inspire economic development and increase employment in the country. She concluded by expressing her readiness to further support business dialogue and cooperation for mutual interest.
