The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) and the Foreign Investors Association of Albania signed a Memorandum of Understanding aiming to establish mutual beneficial cooperation, supporting efforts for favorable conditions for regional investments and promoting awareness of activities of both bodies in Albania and to the greater Black Sea region. The ceremony was hold in Tirana on February 2016.
Business Meeting with Swiss Embassy in Tirana
The Ambassador of Switzerland in Albania, Mr Christoph Graf hosted in February 2016 a business event with representatives of business organizations and present Swiss Business Community in Albania. The meeting aimed the presentation of the Corporate Governance Institute Albania and a success story for CSR in Albania. The Chairman of CSR Network in Albania and General Manager of ANTEA, TITAN Group, Mr. Adamantios Frantzis presented the success story of Antea Cement in Albania.
Present businesses had the chance to ask questions, discuss on cooperation opportunities and common concerns towards business environment in Albania.

In frame of the cooperation with Business Alliance of Slovakia on Project, “Improving Business Environment in Albania”, FIAA finalized the Four Quarters Chart for Business Environment Index during Year 2015. The results refer to the main objectives of the survey which are the Index of the Business Environment and the Assessment of the Laws impact in Albania for year 2015.
The results were gathered mainly from businesses operating on Energy, Mining and Hydrocarbons sectors and were focused on changes in the Business Environment elements in Albania and the identification of key trends and barriers to business.

FIAA highest Representatives were invited by the Swedish Ambassador to participate in two round table meetings organized under the care of the Embassy of Sweden aiming to gather information on the most pressing challenges on investing and doing business in Albania. The Swedish ambassador and other invited ambassadors gave focus on how these challenges could be tackled. One raising issue seen as highly important was the issue of energy Sector.
FIAA Mining, Oil and Gas Committee Members met experts of the Investment Council
In frame of collaboration FIAA has with the Albanian Investment Council, during January 2016 businesses of Mining, Oil and Gas Committee met with IC experts aiming to identify main concerns and gather concrete recommendations from businesses, organizations and institutions in order to improve the complaining procedures in relation to taxation, customs, inspections etc, which were part of the Agenda of IC meeting in March 2016.

During the ceremony FIAA presented a midterm review assessment of the main requirements its members had asked to the Government two years ago. The assessment of the 10 Top Promises Paper was prepared by FIAA in cooperation with the Foreign Business Community.

This initiative is cooperation between FIAA and RISI Albania with the main goal to promote the Albanian potentials in the sectors of Agro-processing, Tourism and ICT.
Presentation of EBRD Transition Report 2015-2016
The Bank of Albania and the EBRD launched in December 17th the EBRD Transition Report 2015-16, which is the EBRD’s annual update on reform progress and economic developments across 36 countries from Central Europe to Central Asia and the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean. The report outlines some of the key developments in Albania over the past year and it discusses the transition challenges ahead – for Albania and for the wider region.

The objective of this Event was informing the Members of the Committee on EU Integration process and structures in Albania; explain how the policy and law harmonization planning, drafting and implementation is done and the Role of the Albanian Ministry of Economy as one of the key players in this process.
DELEK Group to invest in oil and gas sector, tourism and agriculture
Following the Prime Minister’s Rama visit to Israel, the PM office announced that Israeli companies will invest in the water management sector, oil and gas sectors, tourism and agriculture sectors.
During 2016, the biggest Israeli investing group in oil and gas field, DELEK Group will start investing in Albania. DELEK Group has expressed interest to invest in the oil and gas field and on 2016 it will start exploring the Albanian ground for new oil sources. The group has also expressed interest to invest in the tourism and agriculture sectors.
