The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj, in cooperation with the Digital Economy Council at the Foreign Investors Association of Albania held a discussion table regarding the new strategy for innovation and entrepreneurship for the period 2024-2030.
The focus of the strategy, which was presented by the director of the Startup Agency, Mr. Arjan Ymeraj, is entrepreneurship (with a focus on the development of supporting institutions, talents, investments and market expansion) and strategic sectors (ICT, energy, production, tourism, agribusiness) and BPO). During 2024, several interesting measures are expected to be developed, such as the launch of the grant scheme for startups, training for Business Angels, the revision of the legal framework for capital investments, the creation of a professional mentoring scheme and a scheme for corporate investment.
The strategy was received with interest by the business leaders present who appreciated the fact that it reflected the results of the two roundtables held by the Digital Economy Council in November and December. This was evaluated as a good sign that the dialogue has borne the first fruits. Many feasible ideas and suggestions were brought by representatives of the companies Vodafone, Teleperformance, Assist Digital/University of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Teleperformance, Intracom Telecom, and RITECH who have a long experience in the market and know the needs and acute problems of the companies. These suggestions will be reflected in the draft strategy which will be presented for consultation at other discussion tables.
