The Foreign Investors Association of Albania in cooperation with the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj and the presence of the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama organized a roundtable discussion in support of the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Albania.
The discussion brought together Executives of some top companies that are strongly engaged in innovation.
FIAA considers that the Global Entrepreneurship Week is an important movement not only to inspire its member corporates, but also to have FIAA and its members share their vision, knowledge and experience on how to support the innovation process and digital transformation taking place in the country at many levels.
This event contributed in this regard to the concrete discussion on topics such as: activating corporate capital through building common funding instruments such as Corporate Venture Capital and mid-to-long term engagement in the startup and innovative ecosystem; improving productivity and competitiveness through focusing in specific sectors; investing in and developing talent as a measure for boosting innovation and the rising startup scene in the country. A success in these fields would lead to the creation of qualified and high-value employment that on one side would contribute to stopping the brain drain and on the other side would contribute to a higher GDP growth.
The proper addressing of innovation within a vibrant ecosystem requires the active involvement of the Industry, the Government, Academia, and Citizens as part of a quadruple Helix Model to foster collaborations and provide effective tools for all the stakeholders.
This roundtable will be followed by several others where all the actors can contribute to the establishment of an inclusive platform to support startups and drive innovation in Albania.
