Bankers Albania is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bankers Petroleum Ltd., a Canadian-based oil and gas exploration and production company focused on opportunities in unconventional petroleum assets. Bankers Albania was formerly Saxon International Energy Ltd.
Albania is a key strategic area within Bankers’ business plans for the future. With more than $120 million in assets, the Company has the ability to significantly contribute to the growth of the energy sector in Albania. We bring a wealth of experienced management with the ability to introduce and apply new technology. We employ internationally-accepted management practices, including high standards of ethics and corporate governance and a strong focus on health, safety and the environment.
Bankers Albania operates in the Patos Marinza oilfield in Albania pursuant to a licence agreement. The Company has extensive experience in oilfield development and has been operating in Albania since July 2004. We have one of the most efficient, highly talented and motivated teams of professional and support staff in our industry, with a proven ability to effectively develop a resource, while finding a balance between profit and contributing to the community.
We are committed to maximizing the value of the Patos Marinza project for the benefit of all parties involved through a flexible and prudent approach. Our immediate goal is to raise production to 10,000 barrels per day by 2010. The efforts of our employees have already resulted in a production level of over 4,400 barrels per day at the beginning of 2007, a six fold increase since Bankers Albania started operations in the field in July 2004.
In the longer-term, we plan to become one of the top independent energy producers in our market. To reach this goal, we will to identify new opportunities for growth and aggressively pursue them.
