First Investment Bank Albania (Fibank Albania) was established in the Republic of Albania as a joint-stock company on 1 August 2005, with its headquarters located in Tirana on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard. Its branch network consists of 17 branches across the main districts of Albania, providing banking services to a large portion of the country’s territory and population. The bank also offers Premium Banking, a dedicated service tailored to its most valued clients.

Fibank was licensed by the Bank of Albania on 6 July 2007, allowing it to conduct all banking activities permitted under Albanian legislation. The bank is primarily engaged in corporate banking and retail banking services.

The bank is a subsidiary of First Investment Bank AD (Fibank AD), its parent company in Bulgaria, which owns 100% of the shares of Fibank Albania. Before obtaining its banking license, Fibank operated in Albania as a foreign branch of its parent bank from February 1999.

Fibank is also licensed by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) to provide depositary, custody, and brokerage services. In 2010, Fibank Albania became the first bank licensed by AFSA as a Depositary of Voluntary Pension Funds, and in 2011, the first bank licensed as a Depositary of Collective Investment Undertakings. Fibank Albania was also the first bank to commence securities and capital market brokerage activities in the Albanian market.

In 2018, Fibank Albania was designated as one of the five banks serving as Primary Dealers for the government’s Benchmark Auctions organized by the Albanian Government.
