FIAA was among the backers of the Albania Oil, Gas & Energy 2015 Summit held on March 17-18 in Tirana. The summit was attended by senior members of the Government of Albania including Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri, and Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship Arben Ahmetaj.
Companies that participated in the event include Bankers Petroleum, Petromanas Energy, Trans Adriatic Pipeline, Shell, Polyeco, Aggreko, Weatherford, ARMO and SIGAL. The Albanian Investment Development Agency also took part in the conference.

Delegates discussed topics including the upcoming licensing round of onshore and offshore blocks in Albania; the potential of the country’s hydrocarbon and energy production; energy infrastructure projects; investment opportunities in gas, renewable energy and electricity production; and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project.
Over the two days of the summit, speakers provided delegates with a number of regionally focused case studies and presentations, whilst conference participants also benefited from a number of Q&A sessions and opportunities to network with stakeholders in the oil, gas and energy sector.
The summit provided a forum for the exchange of information on how the legal framework for investment is encouraging foreign involvement in Albania’s energy sector; helped to promote involvement in upcoming energy projects; enabled meetings between key players and operators in the country; and showcased possible strategies for entry into the Albanian energy market.
International Research Networks organised the summit in co-operation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry and the National Agency of Natural Resources of Albania.
