FIAA meets with the new Prime Minister of Albania

On October 28th, 2013 FIAA organized a Networking Reception at the Honor of the New Prime Minister of Albania Mr. Edi Rama.

Among the high official Guests present were: the Minister of Economy, Trade and Entrepreneurship. Mr. Arben Ahmetaj and the Head of EU Delegation in Albania Mr. Ettore Sequi as well as other Ambassadors and Diplomats in Albania. The event was also a good opportunity for members and other guests of FIAA to meet with each other and discuss in a friendly manner.

During his word, the President of FIAA, Mr. Pascal expressed that “After 13 years of Existence, we find Albania a better place to work and a better place to live.  But of course we want this country become better, improve its Image in the world. We, as investors in this country are doing the best to make it happen by promoting Albania, by investing more.

On the other side, we expect the new Government to start a new ERA in the communication with the Business. We have welcomed the several business dialogues that Mr. Rama has done in the last months. We encourage to further develop this dialogue and concretize it in good reforms, good decisions.”

He said that, “The last initiative of the Government, NEK- National Economic Council is a very important one and well represented and we are all looking forward to its results”.

Mr. Pascal concluded by thanking the Prime Minister for his presence and wished to him Great Success in leading Albania in such difficult times. On Behalf of the Association he offered the Support of Business Community on making Albania better.

Given the occasion the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama thanked FIAA for the invitation and expressed gratitude for the foreign Investors doing business in Albania. The Prime Minister highlighted that the cooperation Government- Business is very crucial and that this cooperation will not be one-sided but an interactive one. Making Business Community part of the Consultation Process and brainstorming together, it would be for the beneficiary of both sides.

Mr. Rama concluded by saying that the National Economic Council is a very useful structure where the need for cooperation and coordination of different perspectives, different profiles and different approaches in a common round table, is necessary. Therefore, FIAA is invited to be part of this Council by bringing fresh ideas and recommendations in order to better contribute for the improvement of the business environment of Albania.
