The Foreign Investors Association of Albania (FIAA) marked the 25th anniversary of its founding with an exclusive Gala Event, a festive occasion that brought together leaders of nearly 100 member companies, foreign ambassadors accredited in Albania, senior representatives of the Albanian government, heads of business organizations, and many long-time friends of the Association.
The evening opened with warm greetings from Mr. Balazs Revesz, President of FIAA, who emphasized that while celebrating the Association’s history, the milestone also reflected Albania’s remarkable progress. Ms. Marinela Jazoj, FIAA’s Director, added a personal touch by sharing cherished memories from FIAA’s long and transformative journey.
H.E. Silvio Gonzato, Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the audience, expressing his appreciation for FIAA’s valued partnership with the European Union, noting its important role as a partner and sounding board on foreign investment and business climate reforms.
A special highlight of the jubilee was the presence of FIAA’s Honorary President, Mr. Kent R. Ford, one of the Association’s founding members in 2000. He reflected on FIAA’s early beginnings, its initial challenges, and its continuing role in shaping Albania’s investment landscape.
The event was further enriched by the participation of several former FIAA Presidents—Patrick PASCAL, Constantin von Alvensleben, and Silvio Pedrazzi—each of whom delivered thoughtful remarks on the Association’s challenges and accomplishments over the years. Additional tributes were shared by Mr. Mario Tonucci, representing one of the first foreign companies in Albania, and Ms. Rafaela Rica, a steadfast supporter and one of FIAA’s earliest members.
This landmark celebration was not only a tribute to FIAA’s 25 years of dedication to improving Albania’s business environment but also a reaffirmation of its commitment to the future.
