FIAA Digital Economy Council in collaboration with the EU Delegation and the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiation organized a roundtable discussion with FIAA members and academia representatives operating in the digital economy sector on September 18. The experts from the European Commission extended the news that the European Delegation in Tirana will launch a program supporting the digitalization and the digital skills in Albania, financed by the European Commission.
The discussion was very productive as it enabled the European Commission representatives and the EU Delegation to receive first-hand information about the actual stand of development in the sector, especially with regard to e-governance, cybersecurity, digital skills, business development, and digital transformations.
The participants from the business sector shared their challenges and practices they have followed in the past years to address them. They welcomed the European Commission initiative to start a program dedicated to the development of the digital economy in Albania, as this converges with FIAA’s intention to support the growth of this sector through the activity of its Digital Council and initiatives such as the organization of a conference dedicated entirely to the increasing Albania’s footprint in the regional digital economy.
