Several consultations have recently taken place within the Partnership Platform for European Integration (PPIE), where FIAA is a member. The meetings were coordinated under the Ministry of Economy and Innovation and the Ministry of Finance. The discussions have focused on chapters central to Albania’s economic governance and fiscal framework.
Under the Ministry of Economy and Innovation consultations addressed:
- Chapter 6: Company Law – alignment with EU standards on corporate governance and transparency.
- Chapter 20: Enterprise and Industrial Policy – competitiveness, SME support, and innovation.
- Chapter 1: Free Movement of Goods – harmonization of technical standards and market surveillance.
Under the Ministry of Finance consultations addressed:
- Chapter 16: Taxation – reforms in tax administration, compliance, and approximation with EU directives.
- Chapter 33: Financial and Budgetary Provisions – preparation for EU financial contributions and management of EU funds.
- Chapter 32: Financial Control – strengthening internal audit, public financial management, and anti-fraud mechanisms.
These consultations aim to foster inclusive dialogue between government, business, and civil society. FIAA has actively contributed by providing recommendations and feedback on draft laws and regulatory changes, reinforcing the role of the private sector in Albania’s EU integration process.
