FIAA coordinates the visit of INTPOW Delegation in Albania

INTPOW, a networking organization in Norway founded to promote cooperation between Norwegian and foreign players in the renewable energy industry in June 3rd made a business visit to Albania to get informed on the new business opportunities in the Renewable Energy.

Part of the agenda, was a Meeting with the Minister of Energy and Industry Mr. Gjiknuri and his Team.Minister Gjiknuri thanked FIAA and Norwegian Ambassador to enable INTPOW group meeting, through which the Albanian government presents potentials of the country for foreign investment.

During the meeting, Minister Gjiknuri appreciated the fact that Albania has a presence of Norwegian investment in energy. He described the successful example of the company undertaking the project Statkraft Devoll Cascade.

Minister Gjiknuri recognized the steps taken by the government in the past two years to recover the energy sector in Albania, improving financial indicators, reducing losses and increasing collections.

“We are undertaking a series of reforms that have given effect to reduce losses and increase collections. There was also progress in terms of financial indicators of the energy system. We are focusing on the implementation of the third package of regulatory and liberalization of the energy market, “said Minister Gjiknuri.

Inviting Norwegian entrepreneurs to see Albania as a country with considerable potential, Minister Gjiknuri focused on diversification of energy sources and perspectives for the creation of a gas market in the country.

During their Visit in Albania, INTPOW Delegation met also with representatives of Energy Projects within FIAA such as Devoll Hydropower, Ashta Energy, Ayen Energy as well as the Albanian Renewable Energy Association.
