FIAA is elected Member of the Advisory Committee for Private Tourism Sector

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has recently established the Advisory Committee for Private Tourism Sector, with participation of national business associations, chambers and commerce, Academics, NGOs and stakeholders operating in tourism industry.

The first meeting of the Committee was hold on February 15th, at the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mrs. Mirela Kumbaro. FIAA was represented in the meeting by the Executive Director, Ms. Marinela Jazoj, at the quality of Permanent Member of this Committee.

This Committee is established to fulfill the following tasks:

  • advising the Minister responsible for tourism for drafting the Tourism Development Strategy;
  • treating and reviewing issues related to the tourism activity of the private sector;
  • ensuring cooperation between the private sector and the ministry responsible for tourism, on issues that may arise during the development of tourism, the implementation of the Tourism Development Strategy and the Action Plan;
  • giving opinions on the planning of priority areas for the development of tourism;
  • giving opinions during the review of legal acts related to tourism;
  • providing information on the progress of the private tourism sector and suggesting measures to be taken on issues related to tourism.

Further to the meeting discussion, it was concluded as follows:

  • Facilitation of procedures for the continuity of the tourist guide activity;
  • Review of tourism law;
  • Drafting regulations for exercising the Climbing activity;
  • Clean beaches through support from Ministry of Tourism and Environment of 4 coastal municipalities and monitoring during the summer season by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and National Coastal Agency.
