In frame of collaboration FIAA has with the Albanian Investment Council, during January 2016 businesses of Mining, Oil and Gas Committee met with IC experts aiming to identify main concerns and gather concrete recommendations from businesses, organizations and institutions in order to improve the complaining procedures in relation to taxation, customs, inspections etc, which were part of the Agenda of IC meeting in March 2016.

Main topics of the meeting focused on:

  • Typology of administrative complaints in the mining sector
  • Issues encountered: legislation, corruption or professionalism (other)
  • Access to complaints. Is it effective complaint or merely formal procedure
  • Deadlines and procedures available to businesses for administrative appeal to AKBN (AANR)
  • Administration’s respect and abusation
  • Possible recommendations to improve these procedures

The collected concerns have been analyzed by the Investment Council and further addressed, along with recommendations to the Government of Albania.
