FIAA’s Deputy President attended the WBIF Guarantee Facility and Private Sector Blending

During early April, in Tirana it was organized a dedicated meeting for the presentation of the WBIF instrument for the private sector (WBIF Guarantee Facility and Private Sector Blending), a programming mission headed by Ms. Michela Matuella, Acting Director of the DG NEAR. The objective of this mission was to present the IPA overall framework and discuss priorities for the upcoming programming exercise in Albania.

FIAA was represented in the meeting by the Deputy President Mrs. Rigela Gegprifti, who shared with them the role of FIAA and previous experience in the IPA funds project management, where FIAA has successfully implemented two IPA projects:

  1. The cross-border Project “Virtual Action – Real Results”, Albania-Northern Macedonia (Korca/Pogradec – Ohrid/Struga) with focus on the promotion of tourism development in these cross-border areas.
  2. The Project for the creation of a Business Relay Network in Albania, with local businesses which aim to Europeanize (EU delegation IPA fund, communication programme), a vast network of Albanian businesses which aimed at transfer of know-how from foreign businesses to local businesses.

Among others, Mrs. Gegprifti also mentioned other important focus and priority areas that FIAA has on issues such as:

  • Good Governance
  • CSR
  • Circular Economy
  • Sustainable Development
  • Integrity and compliance
