FIAA is honored to have become an official member of the revitalized National Economic Council which started its operations with a first meeting for 2024 chaired by Prime Minister Edi Rama in January 11th, 2024.

The Council was initiated and will run its activities under the attention of the Minister for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate Delina Ibrahimaj. Her vision of bringing together the government and businesses to communicate and harmonize their contribution on law initiatives to be undertaken by the government is the right approach to understand and address the business needs and challenges.

FIAA’s President Alessandro D’Oria greeted this event by highlighting the importance of the institutionalization of the dialogue presented today between the Government and Business with the objective to further improve the business climate and to respond to the dynamic market we are living in.

In addition of the presented topics by the Secretariat, FIAA considers that the focus should be also given to other important areas that need immediate action, sound economic policies, reforms and improved legislation.

One important area that FIAA would highlight is the support towards Production/Export companies which are in a very difficult situation due to lack of human capital and in the last two years also due to Euro depreciation. In this context, it is important to think of some tailored Industrial Policies for these industries.

One further area that FIAA would highlight is the focus it intends to give on activating corporate capital and engaging in supporting the startup and innovation ecosystem in Albania.

FIAA wishes the best for this Council and hopes that it will become a role model in the Business Ecosystem in Albania.
